Rick (37) a Self Employed Builder from Essex comments: "I don’t have a pension plan but do have a UK buy-to-let property which has shown good capital growth although the rent does struggle to cover the mortgage. The idea of doing the same thing in the Sun with a much better rental return and free holidays really appeals. I am buying a property in Spain to rent out to friends and business customers" Amanda (22) a Nurse from Cambridgeshire. "I would love to get on the property ladder but my income does not allow it. So I am going to buy an overseas property and rent out to friends and people at work, and then sell when I want to settle down" |

A RECENT Survey by a Portuguese property developer highlighted the vision and determination shown by first time buyers to get on the property ladder by heading overseas to purchase more affordable property. The survey of 4,000 people revelled that 47% of people aged 18 to 29 are either buying or planning to buy an overseas property. Six out of Ten plan to rent the property and build capital growth, with many opting to live in the UK with family or friends. The average spend is around £101,000 with Spain being the firm favourite followed by France, America, Italy, and Portugal. NOT Just those in their 20s or 30s but many in their 40s and 50s, who for a variety of reasons are yet to get on the property ladder, are also taking advantage of the benefits and ease of owning a home in the Sun. The Reality is you can purchase a property in the sun, with your mortgage repayments covered by a rental income, and benefit from encouraging capital growth. THE CHOICE IS YOURS ! |
